Ishida Is Missing?

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

For those of you wondering why Ishida hasn’t made a post today, it’s not because he didn’t, but because some external unforeseen (or was it?) event has occurred. The photo above speaks volumes.

PS> Sorry for going off-topic, but I couldn’t resist!

Road Fighter

Road Fighter, Konami’s first speed demon racer was first released as an arcade game in 1994. The game had a live-free-die-hard objective: Reach the finish line without running out of time, hitting other cars and running out of fuel… ( I wonder if it was Exxon…)

Road Fighter was ported twice: For the MSX Computer System (1984) and for the Nintendo Entertainment System (1990s). The MSX port was the exact clone of the arcade version while the NES had slight modifications. (Pimp-my-road-fighter? :P )

It also was the first time that Konami Man  appeared… (Whooosh! Flying Man!!! I wonder if he is Nathan Petrelli… *Grins* :P) He shows up in some races as a 3000 bonus point if you “sucessfully” don’t bump other cars or explode into smithereens…

Road Fighter had 3 sequels. (Oh yes, 3 sequels…) Konami GT (a.k.a. Road Fighter 2: Red Fighter - Arcade Game, 1985), Midnight Run: Road Fighter 2 (Arcade Game, 1995 and Playstation, 1997) and Winding Heat (Arcade Game 1996).

Star Wars The Force Unleashed

The next generation Star Wars game has been announced and is going to be available on what appears to be, all consoles as well as the PSP.

The story revolves around the time between episode 3 and 4. It introduces the concept of the force “out of control” or in other words, the force on steroids. The new story falls in with the timeline of the movie as Darth Vader fosters a secret apprentice that does his bidding.

George Lucas himself has given valuable input on this game and has approved every singe detail put into it, so this is a must for Star Wars fans whether they be gamers or not.

There has been no release date yet but rumors say that it might be out late this year or early next year.

Enjoy the concept art work above as well as the movie posted below.

Haloid

Pretty awesome from a fan-made movie. Metroid vs. Halo and both of them team up, but you’ll never expect what to see in the ending! Warning though, this has a lot of violence so watch at your own risk.

The PS3 Receives an Update

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

In response to poor sales compared to the Wii, Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 2, sony is now shipping the PlayStation 3 with an updated firmware.

This new firmware will feature upscaling of PS1 and PS2 games as well as importing data from their memory cards and HD DVD playback.

Version 1.80 will also allow users on a home network to seamlessly view and play rich media content such as images, music and video on their PS3, that is stored on their DLNA enabled devices such as PCs and laptops elsewhere in the house, reinforcing PS3’s credentials as a home entertainment hub that truly deserves pride of place in the Living Room.
