Checking Out Granado Espada

Friday, June 29th, 2007

Korean MMORPG’s are usually one of the most action packed and graphically beautiful MMORPG’s out there. Yet another beautifully stunning and exciting game, Granado Espada grabs the spotlight as currently one of the best looking games out there.

Set in an alternative 17th century fictional timeline, the game dictates the lives of colonists settling into the New World.

Players get to choose which server they want to enter. There are PK and non-PK (PK meaning player-kill) servers. Characters created on one server can not move to other servers. This means that if you created a set of characters in the server that allows pvp, that character can not enter the non-pvp servers.

After logging into a server, players will then be redirected into the “Barracks”. The Barracks will be your launchpad for the game. This is where you can create and select characters you will want to use. There are five character classes. These are the Scout, Elementalist, Musketeer, Fighter and Wizard.

The first distinctive feature of the game will be its Multiple Character Control system, a system similar to old-school RPGs that enables a single user to create and use 3 characters in unison at a time. By completing certain quests, you can add NPC characters to your family enabling you to use their abilities to benefit your family’s role in the New World. (more…)

DiRT: Beautiful Game With Bad Physics

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

DiRT is another great off-road racing game from the makers of the famous Colin McRae rally series. The game features some of the best graphics and crash modelling for PC racing games to date! The game is a great arcade racer, but somehow falls short in realism.

Off the bat, players of the Collin McRae series will be surprised that Codemaster has deviated from the traditional fast paced rally races and opted for a wider array of racing disciplines, and a more arcade like feel. DiRT features six different racing disciplines, which consist of rally, rallycross, hillclimb, CORR, crossover, and rally raid varieties. Each demands a different set of skills from the players. If you are unfamiliar with these forms of motorsports, don’t worry! The game does a fine job at teaching you how each race works through some easy to play initial races, and an informative narrative from Rally America champion, Travis Pastrana. (more…)

Game publishers ditching Sony?

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

Looks like Sony won’t be doing too well this year. The big 3 gaming giants in Japan are throwing their support behind Nintendo in a big way.

Namco-Bandai, Sega and Capcom will be increasing the number of titles for Nintendo’s consoles, the Wii and the DS.

There is also disappointing news that Square Enix has no plans to make any new titles for the PS3 unless its sales get a boost. So does this mean the PS3 won’t be getting any Final Fantasy love?

Libraries in the US to offer video gaming

Tuesday, June 26th, 2007

Who would have thought that video games would be the new addition to libraries? Lets face it. A lot of people today, especially the youth now embrace video games as part of their culture, daily lives and their routine. Its a vitamin that they need to keep on going if they are to survive in the wild.

At the recent annual American Library Association, librarians were urged to “get their game on”. The reason being students and the youth just dig it. It was even suggested that Libraries encourange hosting LAN parties to keep the youth interested in visiting and of course to let these librarians game on as well.

Free Online Game of the Week: Interactive Buddy v1.02

Monday, June 25th, 2007

Imagine the perfect friend: one you can play with when you are happy, or one you can blow the heck out of when you need to let off some steam. A friend who remains a friend even after you hose him down with machine gun fire. Look no further! Here is your very own interactive online buddy!

Interacting with him allows you to earn money, which in turn can be used to purchase skins to dress him up with, or additional items that you can use to interact with him even further.

This little game is sure to bring a smile even on your most stressful day at work, from its short witty one-line comments to its cartoony movements and rag-doll physics. Enjoy!
