There have been rumors that a new Dual Shock controller circulating around the net lately. It’s now official as Sony unveiled the new controller at the Tokyo Game Show, six months after Sony and Immersion Corporation agreed to cooperate after a long fought legal battle over the Dual Shock 2’s force feedback technology.

Despite some rumors, the Dual Shock 3 will feature both rumble and six-axis technology. It is scheduled to go on sale in Japan on November while the rest of the world will get it on early 2008. As of now, it seems that it will be sold separately from the PlayStation 3. Prices have not been announced yet.

Several games are now compatible or can be made compatible with some software updates with the new peripheral even before the controller’s launch was announced. These games are:
