CES 2008: PSP Getting More Features
by Pooch
They are not stopping with Skype. Sony has been demonstrating their already released Japan-only GPS device for the PSP at the CES, and announced that the device will make it to the rest of the world later this year. At only $43, it seems very reasonable indeed. In their website:
Explore the world with GPS on your PSP. Utilizing the GPS peripheral and the latest mapping software on UMD, your PSP will provide 2D/3D locations, driving directions, POI’s, and even downloadable city guides. With an easy search feature and customizable settings, GPS on PSP is the easiest way to navigate new areas and cities. Your world has now become portable.
PSP owners will also be pleased to hear that Sony will be releasing a keyboard and camera.
Pooch: Hurray! It’s the portable gaming console with an identity crisis! Really, I wish they just released a PSP phone that did all that under the Sony Ericsson banner. Hmm… remember Sony promising integrating the Sony Ericsson handhelds with the PlayStation 3 in the future? Maybe these are their preliminary steps towards that promise.
PS: Photobucket seems to be currently down so please pardon my lack of imagery.
